Thank you for visiting our website. We invite you to take some time to explore and get to know our family here at First Church.
Here at First Church we are more that just a group of believers who come together for worship. We are a family, bound together in Jesus Christ.
We invite you to participate in our ministries and programs, all of which strive to bring us together in true fellowship, strengthen our faith, further the Kingdom, and give glory to God.
We have a saying, “If these walls could talk!” The idea is that the walls have heard it all. We could say the walls are a kind of witness, or observer of the events that take place in the rooms of houses. The idea that some solid long-lasting object like a wall could be a witness is an old one. When Joshua renews the covenant with God’s people at the end of his life, he took a large stone and set it up. “This stone,” Joshua said, has heard all the words the Lord has said. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.” When Jesus (the second Joshua) rides into the city, he reminds the Pharisees of Joshua’s stone. “if my disciples will keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” The witness-stone will speak against, if the disciples do not honor God’s anointed King.
